Vesh

Pugh: Vesh, 2025. 3D Modeling, rigging, and animation.

Vesh was a project I tried many new steps with! Firstly‐ the whole body is one singular mesh (except the head and neck)! It was a fun experience to try out different methods of rigging, and I ended up using a different program other than Maya to try and rig Vesh! It saved a lot of time, but a lot of mistakes happened along the way. I ended up blend-shaping a few different faces that ended up not transferring over into FBX and after the rig was loaded into Maya, it turns out they were gone! It was a simple fix but I couldn't figure out how to get him to blink again‐ but I'll show the original blend shapes below! However, that was the only road bump! Everything worked pretty well and I didn't have to weight paint, as AccuRig ended up doing most of the heavy work. Below will be a few screenshots of Vesh in Maya and a link to a video I made to show off some animation!
